Democracy is actually the government of the people, by the people and for the people as defined by Abraham Lincoln. One of the beauty of democracy is the fact that the citizens have the right to be heard. A midst several issues confronting the nation at large under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, an NGO has picked one vital issue and has taken the time to write an open letter to the President for his urgent response and necessary actions.

The Executive Director of the NGO, Eagles Hope for Mother and Child Care Foundation situated in Abuja disclosed to The Expozer Communications that the letter is basically addressing Child’s Right in Nigeria with consideration to molestation or violence against children. Comrade Ugo Philips explain how uneasy it has been for him and members of the NGO since Violence against children has been on the increase whereby there are necessary laws already put in place that the nation has virtually not harnessing.

Actually, the Social Media and other media outfits have recently been flooded with various ugly scenes of violence against children which include Physical Violence and Emotional Violence. Children from even one month old has not escaped the ugly trend and this development has necessitated the writing of the letter to Mr President with copies to relevant authorities in Nigeria.

The executive Director revealed that there are laws already put in place which the nation could use in protecting the rights of the children and prevent further violence against the children with enough to prosecute offenders as well. Instead of the nation to implement these laws, rather, efforts are been geared from few quarters to generate another law in the country. He said there is a need to remind Mr President and stakeholders in the country of the existing laws that captured all that are necessary.  Full details of the letter soon.
